Material: Variable is made from top quality beech ply wood from European forests. The ply wood is treated through an iterative molding process where several veneer layers are combined and glued. Through the application of combined heat and pressure, the layers are given their characteristic shape, making our Variable stand out from the crowd. All wooden parts are flexible and strong, ensuring a sitting experience that is never static. For a beautiful finish, our ply wood is covered with ash top veneer, manually sanded and coated with water-based, non-toxic lacquers.

Helps to straighten my posture while working and surfing the web. Feels more flexible compared to a traditional chair. I gave it 4 stars because the price is steep.

This weird-looking chair helps my back!

I wasn’t too sure what to think of this chair when I first saw it. There was no way to try it out first, and the price seemed steep. But I’m glad I took the risk. I’ve had trouble with regular desk chairs since I hurt my back and pelvis in an accident. I tried switching to a standing desk, and that solved one problem but ended up aggravating my lower back. I’ve been using this kneeling chair for about 2 weeks now and it’s made a big difference. It changes the angle of my lower spine just enough to take some of the pressure off my low back and tailbone. Unlike a regular chair, I can shift positions very easily by moving 1 or both feet to the floor, or putting one foot on the knee rest, or even turning the chair backwards. Plus I’ve still got the standing desk when I want it. Changing positions often seems to be the key for me. I was really at a loss until I found this combination. Yes, it does put pressure on my shins. But that doesn’t bother me much since I can change positions easily. There are several cheaper versions of this chair out there, but I’m glad I got this one because 1. It’s extremely easy to put together. 2. It has separate knee pads instead of one long one, which makes it easier to shift positions. 3. It looks nice. 4. It rocks. I was a little worried that would be strange or distracting, but that little bit of motion makes the chair a lot easier to sit in for long periods of time. I wish I had found this chair sooner.

Love this chair!!

Super easy to put together- only 6 parts! And it's super fun/comfortable to use. Built in flex make it easy to reach for things, and the rocking capability is really nice. I don't feel like I'm fighting my body to sit up straight all day. It's AMAZING!!!

I bought this after much review and after reading terrible reviews of the many knockoffs of this design on the market. As a musician in my 50's I have some some long running back issues and have wanted a kneeling chair for quite a while.I am also a big fan of European designs as I own a number of music related instruments built by small European companies. So I went into this sale confident about the quality I expected for this price point. Now a month or so later, I am very happy with the quality and my back is much happier as a result. This chair can work your core if you balance the sitting position so that your weight is not focused on the shins/calves or you can alternate your weight in different ways and keep the movement flowing. I sometimes find myself putting my feet on the floor and rock gently back and forth. It's great. Very happy with this purchase. I may purchase the backrest at some point.
